Board Report
On Genomics Momentum in December 2002 the Genomic Network of Young Scientists GeNeYouS was launched. After Genomics Momentum about 50 people had registered, and the number of registries has gone up to more than 100 since.
In a second meeting in Januari a board and three committees were formed.
Firstly, to become an official association we drew up and submit articles of association and bylaws. In order to give publicity to GeNeYouS, some of the board members attended national and international meetings and submitted press releases at several websites.
Good examples are the NWO talents days on March 27th or April 24th, at which GeNeYouS occupied a stand, and Biovision 2003 in Lyon, where Maurice Zeegers represented GeNeYouS among 100 young, talented researchers from all over the world.
Press releases can be found on the Science Next Wave website (http://intlnextwave.sciencemag.org) and the BioASP website (http://www.bioasp.nl).
Genomics Initiative, which could help young genomics scientists with international interests, by financing international collaborations. It is however important to know at which institutes they should focus.
That is why we would like to know what you are interested in. Are you interested in international experiences within your work? Would you like to visite an institute or university abroad? Or maybe you would want to work abroad for some months?
Tell us where you would like to go at abroad@geneyous.nl. From your reactions we will make a top 5 of preferred institutes.
