This website is the main interaction tool of GeNeYouS, the Genomics Network for Young Scientists. It gives you access to courses, events and vacancies, as well as insight in the activities
that GeNeYouS undertakes. All together they make GeNeYouS more than just another website. It allows life science Ph.D. students, postdocs and other researchers in their early careers to
meet each other, exchange information and work together. This means that registration is only the start of your network expansion. GeNeYouS allows you to integrate in the world of
life sciences, participate in meetings, conferences and workshops and elevate yourself.
In the paragraphs below you will find a brief overview of the history, current activities and future plans of GeNeYouS. It also gives you more insight in what this website has to offer.
On May 21, 2003 three young scientists went to the Chamber of Commerce for the official registration of a new association, under the name of Genomics Network for Young Scientists.
They were members of a board of seven young scientists, working in various fields of research, such as bioinformatics, medical genomics, plant genomics and animal genetics. With the support
of the Netherlands Genomics Initiative (NGI) and SenterNovem IOP Genomics, they set up an extensive network of young scientists working in various fields in all university cities in the
Netherlands. After an initial period of legislative preparation and critical mass constitution, the board started to initiate activities and projects from the beginning of 2004 on.
Some the highlights in the past years have been:
Extensive reports and pictures of most of the events are available
here.
GeNeYouS is looking for continuous progress. This means that we approach new members to join the network, and establish more and better contact with research schools, universities
and scientific organisations. In addition to the ones that are currently in progress, we are thinking of new projects, tools and events to increase interaction between young scientists.
You are more than welcome to join and think with us.
